Dipl.-Ing., Dipl.-Hydrol. Nathalie Korf



NATHALIE KORF holds a diploma degree for waste management and contaminated site treatment as well as a diploma degree for hydrology. She completed both study programmes in parallel at the Technische Universität Dresden. From 2011 to 2012 she was employed as research and teaching assistant at the Chair of Environmental Technology/Environmental Management, Institute for Infrastructure and Resource Management at the Universität Leipzig. Here she collaborated in an international project dealing with Integrated Waste Water Resources Management. Additionally, she contributed to teaching and education in lectures and seminars.

After the successful completion of the project she left the Universität Leipzig and worked for the Mattersteig & Co. Ingenieurgesellschaft für Verfahrenstechnik und Umweltschutz mbH in Kulkwitz near Leipzig, an engineering firm conducting emission measurements of air pollutants in industrial facilities. At this position, she collaborated in measurements in waste treatment facilities and was also assigned to quality management and quality assurance.

In parallel, Nathalie Korf started working as a research and teaching assistant at the Chair of Waste Management (since 2016: circular economy and recycling technology), Institute for Environmental Technology at the Technische Universität Berlin.

Her main field of research is located in the transdisciplinary intersection of quality assurance, material characterization, and method development for an increased resource efficiency in a circular economy. She is involved in national as well as international research projects. Additionally, she actively contributes to the teaching of the chair, mainly in English modules of the M.Sc. Environmental Technology and as a supervisor for master and bachelor theses.
